Introduction. Specification and Features . Introduced in late 2011, the 18-Mpix EOS-1D X was a direct replacement for the 16-Mpix APS-H format EOS-1D Mk IV, and somewhat surprisingly, was the first full-frame model from Canon aimed at sports and press photographers.
In fact, the full-frame sensor in the Canon R6 is almost identical to the 20.1MP sensor from the Canon 1D X Mark III DSLR – a camera that costs three times the R6. And let’s not forget, 20MP is more than enough resolution for large prints or a double-page magazine spread.
The Sony Alpha a7 IV is simply one of the best full frame cameras on the market. Moreover, as one of the best digital cameras, it has the power to beat DSLRs at their own game. This monster comes with a 24 MP resolution and a hybrid AF system. The latter has a whopping 399 phase-detection points and 425 contrast focal points.
The two cameras do have two different sensor sizes. The 1DS (I and II) are full frame cameras while the 1D (I and II) are smaller. I will check in a minute but I am pretty sure the two 1D versions are 1.3x factor cameras. Comparing them that way the actual resolution of outputed files, cropped to the same image area, is very similar. Nikon's D2X can shoot at 8fps in its low-resolution mode and the Canon 1D Mark II snaps a zippy 8.5fps. What makes the Mark II shine is its full-frame sensor and its whopping 16.7 megapixelsThe currently-in-development EOS R3 is based on the concept of high speed, high sensitivity and high reliability. The EOS R3 will be introduced into Canon's lineup of professional and enthusiast cameras that includes the EOS-1D X Mark III flagship DSLR camera (released in February 2020) and the EOS 5 series, including the EOS R5 full-frame mirrorless camera (released in July 2020).tz5I6CW.
