GW4 - decent health (though some items like blood pressure and BMI etc are very dubious in terms of accuracy and potential for even using trend). Their fitness features (outside of the Suunto 7 - wear os) are best, though like every other wear os / tizen / fitbit there are no training metrics and analytics (except for the S7).

The durability of the Watch5 is fine so far. Battery life is no competition, 2 days on the Galaxy, I got 6 on my Garmin. The smart features of the Galaxy Watch5 are obviously better, but I rarely use them. Bottom line, for a smart watch, go Samsung. For a fitness watch, stay with Garmin.
If you want a fitness watch then get a Garmin. I've been doing a bit of running and comparing Strava and s health on the GW4 and phone. There's too much of a discrepancy to solely rely on the watch. The Garmin's have a much better battery life too. You just don't get all the smart watch features.
The Galaxy Watch 4 is available in 40mm and 44mm sizes, while the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic comes in 42 and 46mm. Due to its slightly more rugged nature and the hardware rotating bezel, the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic is slightly taller than the Galaxy Watch 4, and as such might be a slightly bigger nuisance with tighter sleeves on.
Design is very sharp and refined, seems newer I guess you could say. Really liked my golf edition watch active 2, but got a great trade in deal and upgraded for $120 with a free $50 credit that I purchased the wireless duo charger for my watch 4 and fold 3. Edit: Yes, charger is the same from the Watch Active 2 to the watch 4.
The Galaxy Wear 4 does NOT use the WearOS connectivity app. You MUST use the Samsung Galaxy Wearable app instead. You MUST reset the watch before it will connect to the other phone.

Battery life doubled, going from 6-8% to 3-4% just with that, no longer syncing Samsung Health in the background. I've also played with other settings. I found the following make the largest impact: Disable Wifi and Location. Disable Raise wrist to wake, Touch screen to wake, Turn bezel to wake.

Galaxy Watch 4 or 5: These toggles are available in Settings > Advanced features. You can also toggle these features off in the Advanced tab on the Galaxy Wearable app on your smartphone. Problem
Auto, always on or always off. I use auto. On phone app wearable go to main page click on 3 lines Click galaxy wearable Then about galaxy wearable Galaxy watch manager Click on battery If on restricted change to middle option This stops apps working in background draining battery.
Samsung Galaxy Watch4 Classic Review. The way I see it, no version of this watch will comfortably hit 2 days consistently, so it's a daily charger either way ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯. To be fair, they used the smaller version with 38% less battery capacity. But I really wouldnt expect this to turn out to have a 2 day usage no matter what watch unless you Connected device diagnostic. Connected device diagnostic — a feature introduced in 2023, it is exposed via “Samsung members” app. The app is available on Samsung phones only. As a result
The .GPX data shows that I walked 17.2km (my wife's Fitbit also tracked about 16.8km) not the 15km that Samsung Health has recorded. (This seems to be a failure of the Samsung Health app platform, rather than the watch itself. (Even the auto-uploaded Strava activity managed to correctly interpret the .GPX data).
Google apps and better hardware are promising. But it's still very much a Samsung device which works best with a Samsung phone.Never miss a deal again! See C New software update is available for watch 5 pro and these gestures working really well r/GalaxyWatch • My watch 4, galaxy buds live, and z flip3 are all at 77% lmao nsQH.
